GameStop offers discounted Xbox One game upgrades

Current 360 owners who intend to upgrade to Xbox One are being offered an added incentive in the US by retailer GameStop.

The company says that those who buy the Xbox 360 versions of either Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14 and Madden NFL 25 a guaranteed minimum credit of $50 if they later upgrade to the Xbox One version.

These games will cost $59.99, meaning a net additional spend of $9.99 for early access to the games due to arrive before the launch of Xbox One.

The deal is for PowerUp Reward members only. The trade-in coupons will be supplied via email.

This is an amazing opportunity for our PowerUp (PUR) members to enjoy their favourite Xbox 360 game until the Xbox One version becomes available,” senior VP of merchandising at GameStop Bob Puzon said.

"This is a great example of how GameStop is helping gamers make the transition to the next generation of consoles economical and seamless.”
