EA founder making educational Pokémon/Moshi Monsters rival

Trip Hawkins has set up a new educational gaming firm and plans to create a monster-catching RPG for kids.

The EA founder’s new firm If You Can Company also employs Ben Geliher, who was lead producer at Mind Candy on the online phenomenon Moshi Monsters.

Geliher has revealed a few tidbits of information about If You Can’s first project, which sounds like an educational rival to Pokmon, according to The App Side.

"The game will be a top down RPG for kids, so very stylised in its look and feel," he wrote.

"Think Pokmon, Animal Crossing or The Legend of Zelda for an idea of what would be expected."

Hawkins has also confirmed If You Can will open a studio in London.
