Hackable console reaches $7.7m in final day of crowdfunding campaign

Ouya confirms four-player support

Ouya has confirmed that its Kickstarter-funded Android console will offer four-player support.

The system’s creators said it had made the decision to make the platform compatable with four controllers due to feedback from contributors.

The $99 console, currently in its last day on Kickstarter, has garnered more than $7.7m in its record breaking crowdfunding campaign, smashing its $950k target with 15 hours still left to go.

The platform has received backing from developers including Namco Bandai, Square Enix, U4ia and Robotoki in recent weeks as its creators look to compete with the likes of Apple, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.
