Dragon’s Dogma 2 in the works as IP becomes "major franchise"

Capcom believes it has found itself another major IP in the form of Dragon’s Dogma.

The publisher has now shipped one million copies of the RPG – the 55th Capcom title to do so.

The game has been a particular success in Japan, where its week one unit sales of 302,040 saw it become the fastest selling new IP of this generation.

So impressed has Capcom been with the game’s performance that it has more or less confirmed a sequel, saying that it is going to be developed into a major franchise.

Capcom stated in March that it was targeting 10m unit sales for the game.
