Microsoft pulls next gen job ads

Behind closed doors, a new Xbox is being developed – but Microsoft is determined to maintain secrecy.

This week, the platform holder removed two job ads from Microsoft.com that mentioned the "next generation" of Xbox, according to CVG.

One ad called for a software development engineer. The chosen applicant would work at Microsoft’s Redmond headquarters, joining "the team tasked to revolutionise audio for the next generation of Xbox".

The other job listing offered the position of cinematic art director at Forza studio Turn 10. The new recruit would be tasked with "defining and driving the cinematics vision and techniques needed to achieve exceptionally high quality content for our Next Generation of games".

Little is known about the Next Xbox, although MCV sources report that it will not include a disc drive and will be unveiled at E3 this June.
