900k sales for Mass Effect 3 in first 24 hours

EA has confirmed that it sold 900k copies of BioWare RPG Mass Effect 3 during its first 24 hours of availability.

That’s a US sales figure. We don’t know the UK sales figure, but with the game shooting straight to the top of the listings – and breaking the combined day one sales of both Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 – we can presume they were excellent.

As of last week EA had ship 3.5m copies of the game worldwide.

The publisher also says that in the US around 40 per cent of those who purchased the game also paid out to access its day one DLC.
