Konami and Rebellion sign up for Zynga Platform

Traditional gaming giants Konami and Rebellion have signed up as partners for the new Zynga Platform.

Zynga last week announced its intention to go live with its own content hosting platform, threatening the gaming base enjoyed by Facebook.

The move could see the pair bring a host of high-profile core IPs to Zynga’s web platform. It’s easy to imagine the likes of PES and Metal Gear Solid enticing a large audience to the new portal.

"This new partnership accelerates Konami’s continued success as a top global social games developer and underscores our commitment to provide high quality gaming experiences to the ever-growing social space,” Konami’s senior VP Kazuhiko Uehara stated.

We are thrilled to partner with Zynga to bring Konami games to the heart of the gaming audience on Zynga.com and Facebook."
