Konami announces its first post-Kojima Metal Gear game

Metal Gear Survive has been announced for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

This is the first Metal Gear title to come from Konami since the high-profile split from series creator Hideo Kojima.

IGN reports that Survive is a four-player co-op stealth game that sees – wait for it – Militaires Sans Frontires members who survived the conclusion of Metal Gear V predecessor Ground Zeroes ‘transported through wormholes into an alternate universe, where they’re forced to battle a force of crystalline zombies and, it seems, at least one Metal Gear itself.’

Enemies appear zombie-like and are described as biological threats”.

It’s not yet known how many members of the previous Metal Gear team will be working on this new project. It is, however, being pitched as a new Metal Gear Solid V experience.

Metal Gear Survive will offer a fresh take on the series’ famed stealth elements but within a unique co-op setting that is designed for a truly engrossing multiplayer experience,” Konami’s European president Tomotada Tashiro added.

There’s a trailer, too, which you can see below:
