Australia gets first R18+ rated game

The Australian Classification Board has awarded the first R18+ rating to the Wii U exclusive title Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge.

The R18+ rating in Australia hasbeen a long time comingbut the new classification finally came into effect on January 1st.

The Classification Board awarded the first R18+ rating to Razor’s Edge as a result of its strong, bloody violence”, reports VG247.

Under the Guidelines for the Classification of Computer Games, R 18+ computer games will have a high impact and it is for this reason that these games are not suitable for under 18s,” said the board’s director, Lesley O’Brien in a press release.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge contains violence that is high in impact because of its frequency, high definition graphics, and emphasis on blood effects.”
