ACTIVISION BLIZZARD: Ubisoft welcomes new competitor

Ubisoft has moved to greet the mega-publisher Activision Blizzard to the international industry – and said that it can comfortably ‘rise to the challenge’ of the new competition.

Ubisoft’s UK managing director Rob Cooper told MCV:

"Ubisoft are well placed to meet any challenge with our strategy of strong internal development and the creation of new IP.

"The merger does create an additional contender in the market, but it’s a positive move."

"With the successful release of a completely new IP in Assassin’s Creed, we have shown that we more than ready to rise to any new challenge."

Earlier today, EA’s domestic boss

Keith Ramsdale

told MCV that the Guildford-based publisher was prepared to push itself to outshine Activision Blizzard.
