Angry Birds scores 6.5m Xmas downloads

Rovio’s world-conquering casual games phenomenon Angry Birds was downloaded an amazing 6.5m times on Christmas day alone.

Estimates suggest that this number is very close to the total number of smartphone activations over Christmas. The number represents downloads of all three Angry Birds titles (Angry Birds, Seasons and Rio).

Angry Birds was downloaded around 2m times during the same period last year.
