Apple dominates CoolBrand listings

It’s official – gaming is cool. And as if that statement of undeniable fact isn’t enough, Apple is seemingly the coolest of them all, having dislodged last year’s winner Aston Martin at the top of the pile.

The results come from consumer analyst agency Interactive Brand Profiles, which has just released its CoolBrands league tables for 2009/2010.

First place was claimed by ‘iPhone’, with ‘Apple’ and ‘iPod’ claiming third and fourth.

It was a good showing for games firms, with all three platform holders represented. Nintendo (5th), PlayStation (10th), Xbox (11th) and Sony (16th) make for a tech-heavy Top 20, though Microsoft may well feel disappointed to miss out on a place.
