Assassin’s Creed III details leaked

Reports suggest the next installment of Ubisoft’s flagship series will be set during the American Revolution.

A promotional image sent to Kotaku by a Best Buy employee depicts Assassin’s Creed’s lead character, wielding a pistol, tomahawk and bow.

Rumours of this setting have been circulating for months now, and this leaked image all but confirms it.

An official announcement of Assassin’s Creed is due tomorrow, according to the game’s Facebook page, which is expected to formally reveal the new character and setting.

Assassin’s Creed III is due for release in October. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot told MCV in January that this would be the "biggest [Creed] to date".
