Low Layton stock levels sparks silly pricing

Professor Layton and the Curious Village has gone missing from store shelves as Nintendo struggle to supply the sensational demand for its DS hit.

The game has sold out online at GAME, HMV, Gameplay, Zavvi and Shopto and stock is limited on the High Street.

Consumers are now selling their copies through Amazon Marketplace for up to 60 – double the game’s recommended retail price. Copies of the title are also available through Play and Trade for around 50.

The critically acclaimed DS game was released on November 7th, charting in sixth place.

A spokesperson for Nintendo said it was doing ‘all we can’ to satisfy demand.
