EA dates Skate 2

Developer and publisher EA has confirmed that Skate 2 will be released worldwide on Xbox 360 and PS3 on January 23rd.

The title builds on the success of the first game by introducing loads of new tricks to the brand, as well as taking gamers to a brand new city. Also, gamers are now able to get off their skateboards and explore the city.

Even more exciting is the prospect of manually dragging around the scenery to create brand new lines. In addition, EA is to launch a web-based graphics creator that can be used to design in-game visuals for clothing and decks.

Skate arrived to both critical and commercial acclaim last year, with its decision to ditch the established button controls of old with a twin joystick control system that allowed gamers to control each leg individually.
