MW2 triumphs in UK Amazon charts

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has topped the 2009 list of best-selling items in Amazon’s video game category.

The popular shooter fended off competition from rival titles and a wealth of Nintendo products, which dominated sales on the online retailer’s US site.

Also successful was FIFA 10, which took second place, and Assassin’s Creed II, which took fourth. All other products in the Top 10 were from Nintendo.

Wii Sports Resort came in third place, with Mario Kart at No.5. Positions seven through ten were taken by New Super Mario Bros Wii, Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus and Professor Layton & Pandora’s Box respectively.

Wii MotionPlus was the only hardware item in the bestsellers Top 10 at No.6.
