Nintendo and Mattel partner for Mario Hot Wheels

Six of Nintendo’s most recognisable characters have been adapted for a range of toy cars courtesy of Hot Wheels.

Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Bowser and Yoshi have all received to vehicular treatment have all been confirmed for the US. There’s no word yet on a UK release, unfortunately.

Nor is there yet word on pricing, or precisely when the range will arrive in stores, although Mattel says it is headed to stores now”.

The announcement comes as Nintendo looks to actively increase its licensing efforts. This year alone has seen the Nintendo brand grace yoghurts, Vans shoes and, once again, McDonalds Happy Meals.
