Pokemon Black and White announced

Though the latest Pokemon titles have only just hit UK shores, a Japanese teaser site has offered the first glimpse of the next instalment in Nintendo’s series – Pokemon Black and Pokemon White.

Details are scant for now, though Joystiq reckons that Nintendo has promised plenty of innovation in this new pairing – a statement that ties in with claims made in Janaury that the next release in the series will offer a fresh approach” for the IP.

A DS Japanese release is planned some time later this year – perhaps as a 3DS launch title?

The latest Pokemon titles to grace UK shores, SoulSilver and HeartGold, entered the charts at the end of last month in second and fourth places respectively.
