Splatoon has sold 1m units worldwide

Nintendo says that more than 1m copies of Splatoon has sold worldwide.

This is according to the firm’s own internal metrics, and includes digital and physical sales. 230,000 of the sales were from Europe, 368,000 from Japan and a further 476,000 in the US. 20,000 units have also been sold in Australia.

"Since Splatoon launched on May 29th, it has been great to see so many players competing in online matches", said Nintendo of Europe President Satoru Shibata.

"We are pleased this new Wii U exclusive game is capturing the imagination of so many fans across Europe, and look forward to bringing more exclusive titles to both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS this year."?
