There could be a new Katamari game on the way

Could the 3DS, Vita or mobile devices be getting a new Katamari title?

It does seem that way as Bandai Namco has registered a trademark for a new game called Tap My Katamari. The ‘tap’ in the name here could well reference the game coming to hardware with touch interface, such as the 3DS, Vita or mobile devices.

The publisher filed this trademark at the Office for Harmonisation in the International Markets (spotted by NeoGAF user Rosti) on November 30th.

In addition, Bandai Namco has registered a website for the Tap My Katamari nameat tapmykatamari.com

The Katamari series debuted on the Playstation 2 in 2004 with Katamari Damacy. Games in the franchise have come to the PSP, Xbox 360 as well as iOS, Android and Windows mobile devices.

The most recent entry in the series was 2012’s Vita title, Touch My Katamari.
