Dark Souls board game coming to Kickstarter this month

Prepare to die (like dice… get it?). A table top game based on From Software’s cult hit RPG series Dark Souls is on the way.

Board game firm SteamForged has revealed that it is taking to Kickstarter on April 19th to crowdfund the venture. It’s described on SteamForged’s website as a ‘brutally hard exploration miniatures game for one to four players’.

The release is set to to feature numerous bosses and mini-bosses from the series so far, including those from Dark Souls 3 – released yesterday (Tuesday, April 12th) in the West.

The only enemy characters confirmed so far are the iconic Dragon Slayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough (pictured) from the first Dark Souls. Aka one of the hardest and most stressful boss battles in any game ever.

It’s not yet clear how much SteamForged is asking for with the Kickstarter, or when the board game will be released.

That’s not the only From Software property to get the board game treatment – last month, game designer Eric Lang announced he was working on a Bloodborne card game.
