DC Universe Online delayed

Upcoming PC and PS3 MMO title DC Universe Online has seen its release date slip from November this year to an unspecified time in 2011.

No specific reason has been given for the delay, though developer Sony Online Entertainment says that this extra time will allow us to address community feedback in a meaningful way.”

However, those who had pre-ordered the game in North America will now be able to access the beta on November 30th. Anyone who pre-orders between now and November 15th will get beta access a week prior to the official launch.

DC Universe Online is the first game of its kind, and a truly massive undertaking—the first action MMO set in the DC Universe, the first MMO on the PlayStation 3, and the first time the entire DC Universe will be accessible to the millions of fans who are eagerly anticipating its release,” SOE president John Smedley stated on the game’s official site.

As the game heads into external beta testing, this extra time will allow us to address community feedback in a meaningful way. When we get deeper into external beta, we’ll be able to share more information regarding the new launch date.”
