Doctor Who Legacy confirmed for iOS

The rumoured Doctor Who iOS game is real and is locked onto our spacetime coordinates.

The game was murmured about last week but is now the recipient of an official Facebook page that confirms its name as Doctor Who Legacy.

It carries a picture of the Doctor’s famous Tardis. Eagle-eyed fans will note that it’s not just any picture of the Tardia, either – this is the spaceship as depicted in the most recently aired episode The Name of the Doctor, which preceeds the 50th Anniversary show.

The vessel, which is dead and has swelled to many times its normal size is now the resting place of the famous Timelord’s grave.

All we know of the game is that it’s an action-RPG, is free-to-play and has been jointly made by the BBC, Tiny Rebel Games and Seed Studio.

Whether it will be released alongside the anticipated 50th Anniversary Doctor Who episode on November 23rd remains to be seen. A new trailer for that, incidentally, was released by the BBC over the weekend:
