E3 2012: Large-screen 3DS rumoured for E3 reveal

Nintendo will tomorrow announce a large-screen version of the 3DS, Japanese news outlet Nikkei.

As reported via Andriasang, it speculates that the new hardware will boast a 4.3 inch screen – 1.5 times the size of that found on the current device.

It adds that the hardware could hit Europe, America and Japan by this summer.

It goes on to speculate that an RRP for the Wii U has already been decided. It reckon it will hit Japan for 30,000 (250). The PS3, by comparison, sells for 25,000 (207) in the country and the Wii 20,000 (166).

If true this could point to a 274.99 or even 299.99 price on the UK High Street.

Note, though, that Nintendo has previously stated that it will not be announcing the Wii U price at its conference tomorrow afternoon, which takes place at 5pm UK time.

MCV will be covering the event live.
