EA: UFC goes next gen in 2014

The UFC series will return next year as a PS4 and Xbox One title.

Titled EA Sports UFC, this will be the first entry in the series since Electronic Arts took over the licence from THQ last year.

As was announced at the Xbox One reveal two weeks ago, the mixed martial arts game will be developed using EA Sports’ new Ignite engine, as will Madden, NFL and FIFA.

Key features for this new entry include real-time exertion, whereby fighters display vein-popping, skin decolouration and signs of fatigue as the fight progresses, and full body deformation, showing the impact and damage of every kick and punch.

Every licensed UFC fighter is on boart for the game, with comprehensive head and body scans used to recreate their likeness.
