EA working on new Syndicate title

is claiming that EA is on the verge of announcing a next-gen addition to its popular Syndicate franchise.

The site claims the upcoming title on the way as part of the agreement between EA and developer Starbreeze that was announced earlier this year, in which it was confirmed that the studio was working on resurrecting a ‘classic franchise’.

And Starbreeze certainly has a good pedigree in dark sci-fi romps, having been responsible for the critically acclaimed and wonderfully atmospheric Xbox outing The Chronicles of Riddick. Indeed, when the news of the EA-Starbreeze first brok, it was the Syndicate brand that was on the lips of everyone at the MCV office.

Syndicate, which was developed by Peter Molyneux’s Bullfrog Productions, first arrived on PC in 1993 and tasked players with taking control of a militant global corporation. The game allowed users to play as four cyborg agents across a range of violent missions.
