Euro Truck Simulator publisher opens US office

The publisher behind Euro Truck Simulator has secured a foothold in the United States.

The newly-formed Excalibur Publishing Inc operates out of a new office in Carlsbad, California. The expansion comes after parent firm Contact Sales picked up worldwide rights to titles such as Zoo Park: Run your own Animal Sanctuary and Search & Rescue: National Parks, both of which are due in May.

MD Robert Stallibrass told MCV a US office was essential to making these products a success. The US market is the largest in the world and we need to have a direct presence there,” he said. To build a brand in any market you need to be on the ground there, talking to retail and the press.

In my opinion, it is not possible to succeed in the US by sitting in an office in the UK.”

The US office is now open for business, but Excalibur is taking its time to ensure the infrastructure is in place for the release of its first titles. Zoo Park and Search & Rescue are due in May 2013.
