FIFA 14 notches up 26m mobile downloads

The iOS and Android release for FIFA 14 has been downloaded over 26m times, EA has revealed.

It’s the first time the series has been released as a free-to-play title. It’s unknown how that sales performance compares to its premium 2.99-priced predecessor.

For comparison Pocket Gamer reports that the console version of last year’s FIFA 13 sold 14.5m units – although, of course, at around 40 per shot that’s likely to convert into a far greater revenue return.

The game has also topped the free iOS charts in 148 countries and has ranked in the Top Ten Grossing charts of 155 countries.
