Fly the TARDIS in third Doctor Who game

The first details about the third instalment of the Doctor Who Adventure Games series have been revealed by the BBC.

Called TARDIS, the next title will for the first time allow players to pilot one of the most famous craft in the history of sci-fi. The title will also allow for the exploration of the ship which, of course, is far larger on the inside.

The highlight of its interior will be the Doctor’s drawing room that includes treasures and artefacts – and has been designed to become part of the official Doctor Who canon.

TARDIS was authored by James Moran and will once again feature both Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) and Matt Smith (the Doctor).

TARDIS is a brilliant, brilliant adventure,” current Doctor Who lead writer Steven Moffat stated. It’s funny, touching, terrifying, amazing – everything a Doctor Who episode should be.Since 1963, kids have wondered what it would be like to control the TARDIS. Now we’re handing complete control of the most powerful ship in all of space and time to a generation of children.”

The first two games in the series have been downloaded a total of 1.3m times in the UK. A fourth and final adventure is expected to be released later this year.
