Gear VR launches in the UK

Samsung’s Gear VR headset is now available to buy in the UK.

The tech – which has people using their mobile phone as a screen – is up for grabs on Samsung’s own online store.

The Gear VR will set consumers back 80. It launched in America in November, and costs $99 (65) in that region.

The Gear was developed in colaboration with VR giant Oculus, best known for its Rift headset. The long-rumoured gadget was officially announced in September 2014.

Oculus has warned that many developers will have to give early Gear VR games away free of charge.
