IGN eSports deal for Capcom fighting games

Capcom’s most popular fighting franchises will be part of the IGN Pro League tournament in 2013.

Next year’s eSports competition will include Capcom’s Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition and Street Fighter X Tekken, putting fans of fighting games centre stage at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Along with the inclusion of fighting games at IPL 2013, Capcom will be offer pro fighting gamers one of the largest prize pools in the history of the company’s fighting games.

The deal will hope to expose eSports to the fighting game community and the Pro League is set to work closely with Capcom to provide extensive coverage of the event.

The last tournament event attracted more than 10,000 spectators and notched 346,000 concurrent viewers online.
