[Industry news] THRONE AND LIBERTY TO TRANSITION FROM AMAZON GAME STUDIOS TO NC BY END OF Q4 2026

NC (formerly NCSOFT) has announced that it will transition the global publishing service of Throne and Liberty from Amazon Game Studios to its own online publishing services this year.

Under NC’s expert pedigree of publishing first-rate MMOs and in conjunction with developer FirstSpark Games (also an NC studio), both teams are at work on technical and operational preparations to unify the entire global audience under a single online service.

Existing Throne and Liberty players using Steam, XBOX and PlayStation platforms will experience no changes to their current gameplay environment or assets and now will be able to play together in a single, unified environment alongside PURPLE (NC’s proprietary platform players.

KEY TRANSITION FEATURES

• Game Data & Asset Preservation: All assets — including character information, gameplay progress, inventory items, and held Lucent — will be safely maintained.
• Continuation of Access Environment (For Steam, Xbox and PlayStation Users): Players can continue using their existing account seamlessly by simply accepting the new Terms of Service. Nothing else is needed.
