Asher McClennahan from Kickstarter will be flying in from America to speak at the new Game Republic New Horizons conference in Middlesbrough later this year.
Game Republic New Horizons will take place on October 16, 2025 at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough. The conference will include both an expo and roundtable sessions, as well as a variety of opportunities for meetings.
McClennahan will discussing best practices for games companies on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform, as well as joining a wider panel to share his thoughts on on games funding and investment in general.
Other guests also announced for Game Republic New Horizons include Maverick Games’ Harinder Sangha, Double Eleven’s Kimberley Turner, Barclays’ Elaine Dowman, Rainy Frog’s Tony Byus, Hat Trick Lab’s Harvey Hayman and former MCV editor Chris Dring, who’ll be there on behalf of his new Geoff Keighley-backed publication The Games Business.
MachineGames’ creative director Axel Torvenius is also set to do a fireside chat with Luke Hebblethwaite from BAFTA about his work on last year’s hit Xbox game Indiana Jones and The Great Circle.

“We are excited that Game Republic New Horizons will take place in the UK’s fastest growing tech hub outside London – and it is great to welcome international guests, including Kickstarter,” said Jamie Sefton, managing director of Game Republic.
“This new flagship conference is set to become an annual must-attend event in The North bringing investors, platform-holders, publishers and games studios as well as film, TV, creative and tech businesses from across The North, the UK and overseas to the region.”
If you want to book to go along to Game Republic New Horizons, you should do so soon, as tickets are available at a discounted rate until September 10.
