‘Large female presence’ in Sims 3 dev team

Speaking exclusively to MCV’s sister CasualGaming.biz as part of its Girl Gaming Month, The Sims 3’s associate producer Grant Rodiek has stated that the game’s development team deliberately houses more females than you’d normally find in such a group.

We have a large female presence throughout our team – more than the typical game development team,” he stated. Obviously we don’t have a design document titled ‘Sims for Females’, but it’s something we always have on our minds.”

Elsewhere in the interview, when asked about a console port of the title Rodiek refuses to rule out such a move, adding: The Sims 3 has been developed from the ground up for the PC and Mac. Our entire focus is on this version at this time.”
