Last.FM free to XBL Gold members

Microsoft has outlined some early details concerning its upcoming Xbox Live tie-up with popular music streaming service Last.fm, and the good news is that access will be free to Gold members of the online games network.

Speaking to Joystiq, Xbox Live general manager Christina DeRosa stated: "Gold users will have unlimited ad-supported access, so they can use it 24 hours a day.

"Silver users will be able access what we’re considering a trial period of three hours a month, which comes with video advertising. There will also be a premium offering on a subscription basis from Last.fm, that will be commercial free and will also have more sophisticated personalization features, like Loved Tracks."

It also looks as if users will be able pay an additional fee to get the full-blooded ad-free version of the service.
