LGC: GAME recruits 4,500 people for Christmas

GAME boss Martyn Gibbs said the firm has hired 4,500 temporary staff for the peak Christmas period.

He revealed the number live on stage at London Games Conference 2013. He said that customer support is one of the most important roles retailers can play in today’s games industry, and it will be more important come the launch of the new consoles.

"We have recruited 4,500 people just for Christmas," he said.

"We have recruited 100 people into our contact centre. Our passion our consumers have for Xbox One and PS4 means we have to give people the best service we possibly can.

"We need to be at the forefront in how we give people things."
