LittleBigPlanet delayed in Europe

SCEE has told MCV that it will be issuing a statement shortly that is expected to confirm that LittleBigPlanet has been delayed in Europe.

Media Molecule’s creative platformer was supposed to be hitting retail on October 24th, but MCV understands it will now not be released until November 14th.

Speculation began yesterday when High Street retailer Zavvi sent an email to its pre-order customers claiming that the game has been pushed back. Several other retailers, including the likes of ShopTo.net and The Hut, have now followed suit.

UPDATE: As some of our commentators point out below, several sources are suggesting that LittleBigPlanet has been pulled following complaints about quotes from Muslim holy text the Quran that are included in one of the game’s included songs.

Other sources are also adding that the game has already arrived at several retailers, meaning that Sony faces a potentially complicated product recall.
