Mattrick could pocket $50m from Zynga switch

Former Xbox boss Don Mattrick could earn in the region of $50m from new employer Zynga.

Reuters reports that the exec will in his first year receive a base salary of $1m as well as a joining on cash bonus of $5m and a $2m 2012 bonus – the latter of which the site says is the average Zynga exec bonus.

Mattrick will also be handed around 9m shares over the next three years the current value of which is over $30.5m. Upon completion of the first year of Mattrick will get 45.32 per cent of these 9m shares.

An array of further stock grants will be offered down the line based on performance, too.

This means that by July 2014 Mattrick will likely have been paid $19.3m. In his second year he could earn $14.3m and in his third $8.4m.
