iFEST, the indie games festival run by the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, which has previously had speakers Trip Hawkins, Luke Muscat and Morgan Jaffit, will be back again this year.

iFEST returns to Australian cities in 2014

Now in its fourth year, AIE is promising that this year’s iFEST will be the biggest series of events yet.

"The focus of iFEST has always been the Indie showcase which gives emerging devs the opportunity their games in front of the general public – often for the first time," says Neil Boyd, Director of Marketing and Business Development for AIE.

"This year’s indie showcase will be bigger than ever both in terms of games on show (35+) and audience (700). iFEST is free for devs to showcase and free for people to come along to play and learn – speakers for the more formal part of the program will be announced very soon."

The festival was conceived by AIE as a way to help Australia’s rising number of smaller studios have a space to show their work and gain exposure without fees or the need to be backed by larger studios or publishing houses.

While the Sydney event has been pushed back to 3rd May 2015, iFEST Melbourne will happen on 30th November in the Atrium at Federation Square and ACMI, and in Canberra on 29th November in the Canberra Technology Park.
