The biggest names in UK games development revealed

A comprehensive guide to the top 100 developers in the UK is available to view right now.

The Develop 100 UK Studio Hot List features profiles of each of the 100 game developers, as voted for based on their critical and commercial success, heritage and potential.

The guide also comes with a glossary of all the studios in the UK, listing their name, location, website and date founded.

The Develop 100, published by MCV sister publication Develop, can be found within the Develop magazine app on the Apple Newsstand, and is completely free for a limited time.

Develop 100 is published in association with Ukie, the UK games trade body for publishers and developers.

A survey of studios on the list showed that smartphones and PC/Mac were the most popular platforms to make games for. Four out of every five UK games studios are making games for iPad or iPhone and over half are making games for PC.

Other key findings in the research show that 113 new UK games studios opened for business in the last 18 months, with games dev clusters in London and Scotland.
