Devs given the chance to showcase their game at Game On 2.0 exhibition later this year

TIGA and The Barbican team up for indie competition

Barbican International Enterprises is partnering with UK games trade body TIGA to give indie devs the chance to grab a spot a major exhibition.

The Barbican is curating Game On 2.0 at Newcastle’s Centre for Life, an exhibition that will explore the history of video games – from 1962 to the present day. It will be held between May and November and is expected to attract 100,000 attendees overall.

TIGA and the Barbican are running a free competition that will give five UK indie devs the chance to showcase their titles as part of Game On 2.0. There are five categories – Best multiplayer game, Best Oculus Rift experience, Best educational game, Best mobile/tablet game and Best PC game – with the winner of each earning a place in the exhibition.

The winners will be selected by a panel of judges, including Team17 boss Debbie Bestwick, Rebellion co-founder Chris Kingsley, Marmalade CEO and BAFTA Games Committee chair Harvey Elliott, The Guardian’s Keith Stuart, Barbican exhibition manager Patrick Moran and Norwich University’s Marie-Claire Isaaman.

To enter, indie devs simply need to send a copy of their game, 250 words on why it should be featured and a two-minute video of the title in action to gameonexhibitiojn@barbican.org.uk. The deadline is midnight on February 28th, 2015.

Find out more at TIGA’s website.
