Twitch unveils music library cleared for streaming use

The hunt for music to use in your latest stream has just got a little easier.

Streaming video service Twitch has launched, a library currently consisting of over 500 songs that have all been cleared for broadcasters to use in both live and archived video footage.

None of the songs will be flagged up by Twitch’s audio recognition software.

Twitch has also partnered with SFX Entertainment company Beatport to launch a dedicated music channel with original programming.

Our community has been vocal about the importance of music for their broadcasts and their love of music in general,” chief strategy officer Colin Carrier said. By working with both established and upcoming record labels, we are now able to offer music for them to use that is cleared for live broadcasts and archiving.

With our new Music category, artists are able to create and perform music on Twitch, bridging these closely linked entertainment mediums. Because the response to our previous music experiments resonated with our community, it’s clear that artists and labels now have a new outlet to successfully reach their fans.”
