Watch Dogs claims fifth No.1

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is at the top of the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40 for the fifth week.

The hacking title managed this despite a 12 per cent drop in sales.

Last week the market dipped due to the hot weather and a lack of new releases. There was a ten per cent drop in the number of units sold and a 14 per cent dip in the amount of money made.

It is a very familiar line-up in the Top Ten this week. FIFA 14 rises to No.2 with a 13 per cent decrease in sales, while Call of Duty: Ghosts rises to No.3.

Meanwhile Titanfall stubbornly refuses to leave the Top Ten after 19 weeks on sale. This week it’s at No.8 despite a 24 per cent drop in sales. And EA’s Battlefield 4 rises to No.9 this week with a two per cent increase in sales. This is due to the release of the Dragons Teeth DLC.

Mario Kart 8 climbs six places and re-enters the Top Ten at number ten with a 31 per cent increase in sales.

Here’s the Top Ten for the week ending July 19th:

1. Watch Dogs (Ubisoft)
2. FIFA 14 (EA)
3. Call of Duty: Ghosts (Activision)
4. Wolfenstein: The New Order (Bethesda)
5. Sniper Elite 3 (505 Games)
6. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (Microsoft)
7. Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition (Sony)
8. Titanfall (EA)
9. Battlefield 4 (EA)
10. Mario Kart 8 (Nintendo)
