MGS in Monster Hunter tie-up

Publishers Konami and Capcom have joined forces to bring Monster Hunter directly to fans of one of PlayStation’s biggest franchises – Metal Gear Solid.

Andriasang reports that the upcoming PSP release, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, will feature a ‘Monster Island’ in-game area where Solid Snake will be able to hunt some of the most recognisable creatures from Capcom’s popular series.

Monster Island will also work with the game’s existing four player co-op mode.

It’s not the first time Snake has got his cross-promotional juices flowing, having previously appeared in the likes of Sony’s Ape Escape, Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros Brawl and New International Track & Field.

And speaking of cross-promotion, Peace Walker itself will feature a number of corporate tie-ins, with products such as Pepsi and Mountain Dew featuring in-game.
