Microsoft in for Heroes TV show revival on Xbox?

Reports claim that Microsoft is extending its plans for original programming on Xbox with a revival of TV series Heroes.

TV Line reports that Microsoft is in talks with Heroes’ creators NBC to resurrect the show, the last episode of which was broadcast in February 2010.

It is claimed that Microsoft is interested in a reboot centred primarily on new characters but also involving cameos from the original cast which included the likes of Zachary Quinto (now Star Trek’s Spock), Kristen Bell, Hayden Panettiere,Jack Coleman and Greg Grunberg.

Heroes first aired in September 2006 and ran for four series (or five ‘volumes’ as the show preferred to categorise itself by). Despite starting strongly and peaking in the early days of the second series in September 2007, numbers declined significantly leading to its premature cancellation.
