Microsoft reinstates Xbox One’s US Christmas price drop

Xbox One will as of today once again cost $349 in the US.

The machine was discounted from $399 to $349 back in November but was after Christmas once again raised to full price.

It was a strategy that proved successful, too, allowing the machine to reverse a prolonged period of trailing PS4 in the region and outsell Sony’s machine in both November and December.

Building off a record-setting holiday, we are excited to announce a new promotion in which fans in the U.S. can buy an Xbox One at a special price of $349, starting tomorrow, January 16, from their preferred retailer,” Xbox’s corporate VP of marketing Mike Nichols said.

We are thankful for all the excitement for Xbox One this holiday and proud to offer more fans the amazing games line up, Xbox Live gaming community, and continual innovation that Xbox One fans have come to enjoy.”
