Microsoft to launch branded retail chain

Microsoft is to open a chain of branded stores across North America,

The initiative is to be headed by the former worldwide product distribution boss at DreamWorks Animation, David Potter. Details on the stores are more or less non-existent at the moment, though they will undoubtedly focus heavily on Xbox 360, as well as Microsoft’s other major brands such as its MP3 player Zune and PC OS Windows.

We’re working hard to transform the PC and Microsoft buying experience at retail by improving the articulation and demonstration of the Microsoft innovation and value proposition,‭” ‬ Microsoft COO Kevin Turner stated‭.

There’s no word yet on whether Microsoft is considering rolling out the plan to toher global territories.
