Mid year release for Mario Galaxy 2

The wait for Super Mario Galaxy 2 looks to be a far shorter one than many had expected, with news that the already highly anticipated platformer is being lined up for a summer release worldwide.

Joining it will be the curiously titled 2D action title Metroid: Other M.

The news comes courtesy of Kotaku and will likely be the first of many reveals as Nintendo this week holds a number of press gatherings around the world.

The only other major title we’re waiting for news on is the still mysterious new Zelda outing on Wii, though whether that will materialise this year is yet to be seen. A big E3 reveal is expected for that title.
