Dead Rising shuffles to iPhone

Having enjoyed great success with the iPhone adaptation of survival horror title Resident Evil 4, Capcom has confirmed that it is to port fellow zombie IP Dead Rising to Apple’s devices.

IGN reports that the game follows a similar template to the console titles – that is, players are tasked with surviving a zombie massacre until the military arrives to save them.

It once again stars original series protagonist Frank and is again based on Williamette, though the game has been built specifically from the ground up for the device. Players will be free to fend off the undead with a range of weapons and objects found scattered throughout the game.

Included are a number of additional community features such as the capacity to call for help over Facebook and Twitter. Anyone who receives the plea and boots up their copy of the game can then revive the hapless player. If that fails to happen, the character will respawn as a zombie and appear in friends’ version of the game.
