FarmVille sequel could be on the way

A sequel to Zynga’s farming simulation social network game FarmVille is apparently in the works.

The info comes about according to advertiser Alex Harvey’s rsum (via Superannuation), which claims a successful pitch for FarmVille 2 while working with Zynga as a client.

The work was done sometime between January 2011 and February of this year while with communications agency Isobar.

The original Farmville launched on Facebook back in 2009, and settled in for a long while as the most popular title on the social network until sometime during the middle of last year.

No official mention of Farmville 2 has ever come from Zynga before, so for now take the news with a grain of salt.
